Tis the Season

Boy am I glad tomorrow is the last day of school. I think the girls and I are ready for a break. From everything!

Last night we had our cookie meeting. It went well. I am hoping we are able to sale twice as much as last year.

Our garage conversion is complete. Maybe over the holidays I will have time to post pictures.

Tomorrow is the girls Christmas party at school so I better get some sleep! Billie (my sister) also comes in from Georgia tomorrow evening.

Holiday Season

It seems this year there just isn'nt enough time in the day to get everything done. On top of that I woke up with a sore throat and stuffy nose! Just what I needed to add to my stress. I'm trying to relax and not let evegything get to me but it's been very tough. Through it all I realize what a great husband and children I have. I am truly blessed.

Happy Thanksgiving

We have had a great time in Iowa. The girls have enjoyed visiting their cousins. Hope everyone else is enjoying their family.

We are on our way to Iowa for Thanksgiving. Not looking forward to the cold. We got slot done on the garage the past couple of days. I am hoping to be finished by Christmas.

New Barn

Another Week Gone

Today our girl scout troop made Christmas Ornaments. We decorate at tree down at the civic center. They turned out really cute! I think we had over 10 different crafts counting the swaps. Was very hectic but the kids had a blast!

Tomorrow we are emptying out our metal building to get ready for our new barn. Rick bought a 16X20 barn. They will be coming on Wednesday to start building it on site. Sure is going to be nice to have all that storage space. This is all in preps of us closing in our garage!

The Pumpkins Are Put Away

Friday was a busy day. I did Spirit Shop during the lunch periods then went to the girls class parties. After school we met friends downtown for some trick or treating. Then grabbed a quick bite for dinner then went out to Arlington to my sisters church. She likes to show the girls off and they like to play all the games.

Saturday we had girl scouts. We are getting ready for a day at camp. So the girls decorated backpacks, swap buckets, and made cushion seats for the pickle buckets.

Later that night the girls friend Bailey had a awesome Halloween Party. The kids played all kinds of cool games and came home with more candy than they got trick or treating. Becky spent the night but chicken Mandy came home with me.

Today Rick and I went and looked at some barns. We are going to closein our garage in so we're going to need some more storage. Then the girls had three friends over to play all day. They ended a great weekend with their Dad cooking hamburgers and hots dogs. Eating with their friends on the patio.

Such is the life of these kids I tell ya!

Limo Rider

Today I went to CiCi Pizza via a limo with 130 kids. The kids won the trip by saleing 15 boxes of cookie dough for our school fundraiser. Mandy & Becky were jealous that Mom got to go and they didn't! I just coulding afford to buy 30 boxes of cookie dough!

Becky's Teacher Conference

Rick and I met with Becky's teacher last Thursday. She's doing well in everything. The only problem is she tends to get bored when reading. Sometimes reading in a monotone voice. If it's a subject she doesn't care about she probably won't be able to tell you anything about the story. So we're going to work on her retaining information she reads. She is definately being a tad more social in school this year. Not nearly as shy with her teacher. She spent the night with her friend Bailey last night. They had a blast.

Amanda has offically gone to bed by herself for over a week. So we're going to give spending the night with friends another shot. I'm encouraging them to go their seperate ways. I think it's good for them to have seperate friends. By the time Becky came home today Amanda was starting to miss sister :)

GrandParents Day

Parent Conference

I had a parent conference with Amanda's teacher today. She's doing really well in all her subjects. She's reading on the level they expect her to be at by the end of the year. So she's just above level. Socially she's doing wonderful. I couldn't ask for a better kid. Now at home is a COMPLETELY different story. We are working on going to sleep by ourselves. She had two episodes where she went to spend the night at friends and we ended up having to go pick her up. So we've made a new rule. Before she can spend the night at a friends house she must go to sleep by herself (without her Daddy) for a week straight then she can try again. Turns out Amanda doesn't like the word NO at all. :)

Homecoming Prep

Our Girl Scout Troop made mums and megaphones last Friday. I don't have a picture of the megaphones but they turned out cute. They were made from recycled Dickey's drinking cups.

Meeting The Mayor

Giddy Up

Today the troop went to "Horses and Me" at Whispering Cedars. They got to ride horses, learn horse safety, and all about horse grooming. They even did some roping and played horse shoes. Becky really enjoyed it all! Amanda woke up sick this morning and had to stay home with her Dad.

Completely Pooped

I've been going non stop since 6am this morning. But it's for a good cause right? One day my kids will thank me for it :) Tomorrow we are off to a girl scout field trip. We are going to the camp in Duncanville to learn about taking care of horses and we will get to take a ride as well! I'm off to prop up my sore feet!

Busy Day Ahead

Today I have to go in for my usual volunteer work at school. I do the Friday Folders for both classes. Basically I sort all the work they did for the week and put it into each childs folders. Then I do what ever copying, laminating, etc that the two teachers need.

Tonight is our monthly TEAM planning meeting. That's our version of PTA. The girls have to go to dance from 3:30-5:00 then I pick them up and fix dinner then off to the TEAM meeting. Rick will watch the girls at home and get them into bed on time.

Tomorrow is going to be even worse. Mandy has her thing with the Mayor at 8am. Rick's taking off. I'm working in the Spirit Shop during the lunch hours.

Then we will pick the girls up around early to take them to apply for our passports. We are going on a cruise in June for our 20th anniversary! We are all very excited about it! It's our first time on a cruise! We are going to Grand Cayman, Jamaica, and Cozumel for seven wonderful days!

Friday night from 7-9pm we have Girl Scouts. I'm tired already! We are making Homecoming Mums and Megaphones for the parade. So that should be fun. My sister Jo Dee is hopefully going to come and help with it all.

Trick Or Treat

Today started early with a dr office visit for Becky. She definately has a staph infection and was given a cream and oral antibiotic to take for ten days. She must wear pants and take baths every day. On a good note I thought I would share some of my Halloween Decorations! Don't you wish you lived next door to me? Fun Weekend

Saturday we went down to Cantun for some fun shopping. Then on Sunday we went to see Beverly Hills Chihuahua. It was pretty darn cute! Bad news though. Becky had a small red sore on her thigh yesterday. I doctored it and really didn't think much about it. By the time she got home from school today it was all pussy and had a red ring around it. I'm guessing she has a staph infection. So we are off to the dr as soon as we wake up in the morning!

Proud Mommy

Amanda's teacher emailed me today to let me know she selected her to be receive a Good Citzenship Award from the Mayor. It's times like these that make me realize what good kids I have. I should cut them more slack! Nah! That's why they are so good! lol One day they will thank me for it!

Becky's All Better

Thursday-Saturday Becky has had some sort of virus. She had pretty much a non stop fever. I would give her motrin and after six hours it would come right back. She missed Grand Parents Day on Thursday and had to stay home on Friday. So much for perfect attendance for her! She is all better today though and back at school!

Boo!

Today we decked out the house with all the Halloween Decorations. Let's me know that 2008 is coming to a end soon. Before we turn around it will be Christmas time! Billie, Sarah, and Jenny will be coming home for Christmas. Also we plan to go to Iowa for Thanksgiving. The girls are looking forward to seeing all their cousins this Holiday season!

Done at last!

Today I finished up the last two troop shirts! Boy am I glad! They were alot of work. I did 10 shirts over the summer and six since school has started! Yikes! This week the girls will be working on their parade float decorations for Homecoming. The next couple of days will be crazy with Grand Parents Day. My parents are coming tomorrow and will spend the whole day because my car will be in the shop. I can't wait to get a new car but I want to get our full moneys worth out this one first!

Round and Round We go

Last night while I was at my leader meeting Rebecca got her hair twisted in the rope swing. Luckily a neighbor came over right when it happened and helped Rick cut her down. Seems she was hanging by her scalp! I'm suprised we havn't had any broken bones the way we've been going lately!

Busy Busy Busy

Between Girl Scouts and Volunteering at the school I've been swamped. Last week I attended two Leader training classes at the Service Center. Tonights is a leader meeting. This week is also Grand Parents Day at the school. So I will be there Thursday & Friday helping with that. Yesterday we went to a 2nd Grade Family Field Trip to Dinsaur World in Glen Rose, Texas.

Happy Birthday To Me

I have a cold/allegies! I feel like crap! But on a good note I finished the shirts. Sounds like we are getting two more girls so I bet I will be making more next week! Aww well makes the girls happy! Do I hear Mexican for dinner tonight?

Back Breaking

I'm busy making 6 more shirts for our Girl Scout Troop! That makes a grand total of 16 that I did! Next I plan on doing a banner for the upcoming Home Coming Parade! It kills my back but I really love doing it! Having been good about getting on the Wii Fit. Too many distractions!

Freaky Friday

Let the fun begin! Tonights our first Girl Scout meeting of the year. We have five new girls signed up. Most of them are friends of Mandy & Becky's. I sure hope they like it and stick around! Would be good for us to have some kids that stick together through the years.

Holiday Is Over

Welp the long weekend is over! Man camping was a lot of work with so many people! We had fun but was ready to come home. The girls enjoyed tubing and Rick even got in a little bit of fishing. I managed to lose two and half pounds even with all the good food around!

Getting Ready

Today I mowed the yard and worked on laundry. Rick is off tomorrow so I'm trying to have all the little chores done. He has a 9am appointment with the eye doctor. I'm so glad he's going. He's been needing glasses for a very long time. After the kids get home from school tomorrow we are off for a four day weekend at Navarro Mills Lake. Should be alot of fun! I baked two 13X9 brownies today. I hope I can resist them. I am trying my darnest to be good. I'm back up a half a pound today. Pisses me off. Has to be those dang M&Ms I ate!

Hanging In There

I'm doing pretty good at staying active on the WiiFit. I've clocked over 8 hours. My goal is to do at least 30 minutes a day. Is a bummer I can't do it this weekend while we are at the lake :( So far I've lost 3lbs! I'm off to take the girls to gymnastics! I spent today catching up on Hawkeye paper work. We're waiting for a wire from a job we finished on Monday. I hate waiting!

Silly Second Graders

Yesterday was our first day back to school. The girls were very excited about it. They absolutely adore their teachers. They were very tired by the time they got home though. I'm sure in no time they will slip right back in the groove of things. I spent the morning serving coffee, milk, and juice at the boohoo breakfast and then the rest of the afternoon helping Amanda's teacher get settled.

Saturday Summary

We enrolled in dance school today. They are all signed up at the new school. It looked very nice! I hope it all works out. The girls will be in the 3rd and 4th grade class since this is their 5th year of dance. They got black taps shoes, pink ballets, and black jazz shoes. They will go for an hour and half every Thursday. We are going to have a very busy second grade year. Wednesday is gymnastics, Thursday is dance, and Friday is Girl Scouts. Makes me tired just thinking about it but it's worth it! I'm curious to see how much home work the girls will have this year. I know they have to memorize their math facts! Thats going to be a challenge in itself!

Keeping At It

Did about a hour on the WiiFit today. I've lost two pounds in five days. Basically the only I've done different is the WiiFit. I'm not really dieting all though I'm trying to eat sensible. Girls are driving me bonkers! Three more days and school starts! Woohoo! I'm excited as they are!

Last night was meet the teacher night. Both their teachers seem very nice. Me and Antionette had a table for Girl Scouts. Tonight we have a girl scout round up. I hope that we are able to get six more girls! I'm looking forward to getting the troop going again. We are going to meet on Friday nights.

Saturday is Dance signs ups! Is going to be some major changes this year with the new studio. I am hoping the girls make the dance team this year. We shall see!

New Beginning

Three days ago I bought a Wii Fit! It's alot of fun but I'm so sore! It's cool that I can compete against the kids. They love it as much as I do!

Rick is gone to Waco and won't be back till Friday. It's tough being by myself 24/7 with the girls. They havn't been behaving very well lately. I think they are sick of each other. I'm ready for school to start.

Thursday is Meet The Teacher night! The girls are very excited to start second grade! Mommy is too! I just like my me time ALOT!
